*I keep my windows open at night* was an off-site, one-piece viewing presented by SHED Projects in Cleveland, Ohio, hosted by artist Malena Grigoli at 9413 Sophia Ave., the site of her year-long experimental architectural project.

The piece reflects on the ways we consume images through scrolling algorithm-driven social media. We now produce more images in 2 days than existed throughout all of human history before the year 2000. I am interested in the hierarchy we assign to these images: when we encounter an overwhelming amount of visual information every day, how do we decide which images are meaningful enough to remember?

The piece was intentionally slow to build, with most of its individual tiles hand-painted. By the time it was finished, many of the images I had chosen—images that felt significant or prevalent to me in the moment—had already faded from my memory. This process mirrors my broader practice, which offers a meditative way of slowing down with the information I consume. Through making, I piece together fragments of images and ideas, attempting to understand what remains after the constant stream of information has passed.
